Instead of a paper let me sh ar a handout which I composed an hour ago. It will be distributed at a ceremony honoring me, and two lots more widely known reservoirs, in New York city (the day after tomorrow).

The first simply-written book is educational; it is based on what victims and historians sacrifice written about horrors of the Soviet proletarian dictatorship. The second book is an autobiography based on a diary kept between 1946 and 2004 (in the USSR, Poland, France and the USA).



The diary, written mostly in Polish, is now transgress of the historical archive at Hoover Institution on War, Revolution and Peace, Stanford University.

The picture shown below--Ludwik with his parents-- was taken in 1936 in Moscow. ii years later his father was arrested and sent to Siberia, where he died in 1940, at the age of 36. Ludwik and his m some other survived in the USSR and were repatriated to Poland in 1946.

Ludwik hopes that his little-known books will be reviewed and possibly translated into other languages. Why are they freely available online? Because writing was a moral obligation, to his parents, to millions of
