For hundreds of years colonist in the U.S could not seem to grass away from the basic effortless writing that is pellucid style. To the Puritans plain style was an effective way of revealing Gods wisdom and truth, but as the 17th century came to an closedown various writing styles of early colonial authors adapted as America changed. Towards the end of the 17th century and the 18th century, a new style of writing arrived, captivity narratives. Few writers of the pre-revolutionary get along with have embodied this style of writing more than bloody shame Rowlandson and Olaudah Equiano during the late 1600s and 1700s. Rowlandson and Equiano share many similar characteristics even though they were of different race and whose writings were decades apart.

Similar to Equianos autobiography, The evoke Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano Rowlandson was also captured and taken from her home in her captivity narrative, Narrative of the Captivity....
