Maya Angelous Africa written in 1975 describes Africa being destroyed by Europeans who took the race of Africa into slavery. Personification and rhythm enhance both the imagery and greenback of the meter. The continent of Africa is personified to create smart images and the rhythmical patterns contribute to the ever-changing tone from pleasant to sharp to contemplative.
